Re: Christmas Lights?
Thu, December 14, 2006 - 12:57 PMNot Oakland, but Alameda. Just go over the High Street Bridge to Thompson Avenue. It's unofficially called Christmas Tree Lane. A long block and the houses on both sides are wonderfully decorated. Every single house has lights. They also have a Santa in the evenings after 6 pm in the median strip. We go every year. You can park and walk or just slowly drive up and down the block. -

Re: Christmas Lights?
Fri, December 15, 2006 - 11:04 AMThe Mormon Temple display is surreal on a windy night. All the palm trees are wrapped in lights, fronds included, and the wind makes them look like menacing extra-terrestrials. -

Re: Christmas Lights?
Fri, December 15, 2006 - 11:25 AMThat seems appropriate. I'm always thinking the temple is going to take off and spin away like a spaceship. -
